  • Meat Bun is thrilled to take part in the upcoming Diversions art show at Giant Robot LA and humbled to be showcasing a selection of our artwork alongside some amazing talent.

Diversions begins this Saturday, March 10 and runs until April 4. The group exhibition features Sean Chao, Feric, Jude Buffum, French, Monyo Monyo and Paul Roberston, whose work you may recognize from our Snack Attack and Big Money, Big Prizes tees (or the web site you’re looking at right now).

The opening reception will happen this Saturday March 10th 2012 from 6:30-10pm. We’ll have some prints of our work on display–and for purchase, of course–that are exclusive to the show.

Some additional details from the release:

Jude Buffum from Philadelphia crosses 8-bit art and social and pop culture commentary. Monyo Monyo from Japan creates wearable masks that are furry and powerful. Feric from Taiwan is known for his delicate and cyber-detailed pieces. Originally from Taiwan but now a resident of Los Angeles, Sean Chao creates astonishing dioramic worlds. French from England evokes metal music and its iconography. Meat Bun, our comrades from multiple pop up shops and Game Night events will display some of their iconic work. In attendance for the opening will be Paul Robertson, Sean Chao and the trio who make Meat Bun.

Diversions will be on view at GR2 which is located at 2062 Sawtelle Blvd LA, CA 90025. Be there!

  • We’re heading back to Sawtelle Avenue this weekend for the latest Giant Robot Game Night. GR2 will host Game Night 7 this Saturday, December 3 featuring two great Polytron Corporation games: the long awaited FEZ and crazy 3D head-tracking experience superHYPERCUBE.

Oh, and bring your Nintendo 3DS for some serious StreetPass fun.

This Saturday will also see the kick-off of the newest Meat Bun pop-up shop at GR2. This will be your first chance to get all-new Meat Bun stuff from the forthcoming Cute ‘Em Up line. More previews of that soon.

Here’s the relevant details, Angelenos and Southern Californians.

  • If you’re going to PAX Prime this weekend in lovely Seattle, Washington, after you’ve gotten your share of blowjobs in Duke Nukem Forever, make sure to cruise by the 2 Player Productions booth. Our friends at Attract Mode have been gracious enough to haul a bunch of fresh Meat Bun stuff up to the show and will be holding down the booth all weekend.

Stop by, say “Hi!” to Adam and Matt, grab one of Cory Lewis‘ limited edition prints and score some Meat Bun gear!

Not going to PAX? If you’re in LA, don’t miss The 3G Show, opening tonight at Gallery 1988. The show will feature artwork from Autumn Society artists based on the three big Gs — Ghostbusters, Gremlins and The Goonies. That includes one of three brilliant, video game-inspired pieces by Jude Buffum, like this stellar 8-bit Gremlins scene from Dorry’s Tavern.

The 3G Show’s opening reception starts Friday, September 3rd 2010 at 7 pm at Gallery 1988. See you there!

Add to the fact that this dish is cooked entirely with the freshest local SoCal ingredients, and it doesn’t get any better for you than this. May we interest you in $1 tacos with your SSFIV?
