  • Still Recovering from EVO 2K11

    Posted: 08/07/2011

Was 2011 the best Evolution Championship Series ever? Maybe! It was certainly one of our favorites, hosting the world’s best Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Tekken 6 and Mortal Kombat players. Meat Bun was fortunate enough to be in attendance once again this year, watching an 8-year-old MvC3 phenom named Noah send fighting game vets three times his age home with his impressive Hulk skills. Latif and Fuudo dazzled the crowd with impressive runs in Street Fighter IV. It was so, as the kids say, hype.

Meat Bun was there, of course, representing with the official EVO 2011 tee and all-new gear, which quickly sold out, thanks to huge crowds of virtual fighters and spectators.

Jason and Mike were there, betting cash on fights and previewing some of the new Meat Bun line inspired by Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Mega Man and more.

Master Adon player GamerBee stopped by the booth, grabbing a new “Beautiful Spring Propaganda” tee.

The triple J–Jay Jay and Jared–stopped by in full cosplay glory, showing a little love.

Even Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono stopped by (pictured with his companion Blanka), showing some trademark excitement for “Emperor of Muay Thai.” Don’t be surprised if you see Ono-san sporting a new Street Fighter-inspired wardrobe in the coming weeks.

We even ran into Street Fighter player/model/Crimson Viper cosplayer Kayo Satoh! *AHEM!*

Thanks to everyone at EVO 2011 for making this another awesome year, with big shout outs to the Cannons, MrWizard, Seth Killian, Wes, Hector, Daigo, Shino and everyone else who made this year another one to remember. See you next year!
