Thanks to Haunted Temple’s Skulls of the Shogun and Reverge Labs’ Skullgirls, Giant Robot’s Game Night 5 was a big old success. Our late June Game Night was one of the biggest yet, with folks swarming the game stations indoors and outdoors, helping us stay open and running way later than planned.
Credit to Adam Robezzoli of Attract Mode fame and the Angry Bananas Extra thanks to the big crowds of game enthusiasts, game developers and Meat Bun fans for coming out to show their support of indie games and local game events. Take a look at some of the snapshots from the night’s event, with way more over at the Giant Robot blog. (There are a few Meat Bun sneak peeks at the next couple lines in here, if you’re curious!)
Every weekly wrap up should start with a Freddie Wong video, right? Right! Here’s Freddie and crew bringing some Katamari Damacy into the real world.
If you’d prefer to look at the proper way to rip off some vampire clothing in Akihabara–from the game Akiba’s Strip (har har)–here’s a gallery of the art behind that very thing, courtesy of Kotaku.
Readers of the blog know we’re all very obviously excited about this fall’s Dark Souls. We really should have submitted something to the game’s design a shield contest, but we’re not that gluttonous for punishment. Because we’d lose.
Finally, friends of Meat Bun and co-stars of Giant Robot’s Game Night 5, Reverge Labs’ Skullgirls, was recently the subject of a Kotaku feature (put together by Mike) highlighting the in-jokes of fighter Peacock. Can you spot the Hsien-ko and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure gags?
